CARIBBEAN COAST OF COLOMBIA

The Caribbean is one of the most colorful, joyful regions of Colombia. Its beaches, flavors, festivals, music, dances, its people and their stories make this place a great touristic destination of Colombia. Among the largest cities in the Caribbean region we have: Barranquilla, where the world-famous Carnival of Barranquilla is celebrated; Santa Marta, known for its cultural, ethnic diversity and the ecological wealth; and Cartagena, recognized as Colombia’s most romantic getaway thanks to the beauty of its colonial architecture and the gorgeous beaches in its islands.

Another of this region’s many attractions is the wide variety of beaches, unique for their crystal-clear water, white sands and stunning landscapes where you can enjoy the sun, ocean breeze and warm weather. The region also offers insight into the culture that made Colombian folk music artists with different rhythms and sounds. Caribbean cuisine is another key element of the region’s rich cultural diversity, a delicious blend of native Caribbean ingredients and traditional Colombian culinary practices.

As this is a very popular region in Colombia for national and international travelers, there is a diverse accommodation offer all over the region with very comfortable and also high-end lodging in the main cities in hotels in front of the beach or in buildings with nice architecture. On the other hand, in rural areas you can also find a huge variety of lodging, from basic cabins to gorgeous ecolodges. At the indigenous territories there are more basic accommodations but the reward is to have really close experiences with the communities there.
