The Colombian Pacific coast is a destination of nature of high environmental wealth and unique biodiversity of the Colombian geography, being also one of the most humid regions of the world. Bahía Málaga is a National Park in which you can enjoy stunning marine landscapes, incredible waterfalls and dark beaches surrounded by a dense jungle.
During the months of July to October it is possible to observe the humpback whales that reach the Colombian Pacific coasts to have their cubs. Bahía Málaga is one of the most accessible areas to make this sighting, offering also a rich hydric wealth in pristine ecosystems in a destination that has a strong black communities and small indigenous groups culture offering great gastronomy, vibrant rhythms and chill vibes in the area.
(07:00-16:00) – Option of arrival by plane to the city of Cali and then we can coordinate a private or shared ground transportation to Buenaventura or option of flying directly to the city of Buenaventura, where we can help you to coordinate hotel.
(08:30) – Welcoming at the dock of Buenaventura by the local team & free time for breakfast. During the morning we will departure in public speedboats towards Juanchaco dock, once there, you should hire transportation to Ladrilleros town (2 USD), where you will check-in at the hotel, will have lunch and will be taken to the Juanchaco dock where you will take a boat in order to do a whale-watching attempt (only from July to Mid-October) or will take a boat towards La Sierpe waterfall, enjoying this 65 mts pristine waterfall or will go to Las 3 Marías waterfall, which is a refreshing creek that comes from the jungle. At night, after the dinner if the moon is not bright we deeply recommend to do the phytoplankton activity at night.
(7:00 AM) – Breakfast and after that you will have a boat tour by the estuaries & mangroves of Bahía Málaga where you will get to a natural pool deep in the ecosystem visited, ending with a visit to the Wounaan indigenous community, before having lunch at the hotel. Later on, you should hire transportation to the Juanchaco dock (2 USD) in order to take a speed boat towards Buenaventura dock where our adventure will end. Approximately by 5 PM you will be back at Buenaventura where we can arrange ground transportation to Cali or a night at a hotel in Buenaventura in order to take flight on the next day.
