This jewel of nature is located in the Sierra de La Macarena, at the department (state) of Meta and is known for the striking colors of its waters produced by the “Macarenia Clavigera”, an endemic plant in the area that blooms between June and November and that has given it the reputation of being the most beautiful river in the world.
This river is one of the most important natural treasures of the country, as a river with its characteristics can only be found in Colombia, nowhere else. In addition to Caño Cristales, the area has imposing natural attractions thanks to the millenary rock formations of the area in which you can do several activities, such as hiking, swimming in crystal clear waters and sighting of fauna and flora in an area of special biological and geological interest worldwide.
(05:30 – 8:30) – Meeting at Terminal 2 of El Dorado Airport of Bogotá, known as Puente Aéreo (the hour depends on the flight itinerary), in order to take a 1-hour flight to La Macarena town, where the local team will receive you and accommodate you at your hotel, then you will receive the talk by the authorities at La Macarena. After that, you will have lunch. Later on, you will do one of the alternative trails at Caño Cristales: which can be, Caño Cristalitos, Caño Piedra or Laguna del silencio). At the end of the day you will return to the hotel where you will have dinner and rest.
(07:00) Breakfast and after that navigation to cross the Guayabero river, then 4×4 transportation for 20 minutes and finally you will start to the hike by one of the longest trails at Caño Cristales (There are many different trails, we guarantee the visit of one of the best ones depending on the age and physical conditions of the group). During the trail you will have and outdoors lunch and after ending the whole trail you will return to La Macarena town and will have an integration night with local music and typical dinner.
(07:00) Breakfast and after that you will have a 1-hour fluvial ride on Guayabero river till the sector of El Raudal de Angosturas where you will start the hike of the trail of Aguas Claras or The Rock city & will have and outdoors lunch on the route, ending the activity in the afternoon and then returning by boat over the Guayabero river to the town and then will head to the hotel in order to have dinner and rest.
(07:00) Breakfast and after that you will cross the Guayabero river, then 4×4 transportation for 20 minutes and finally you will start to the hike by one of the alternative trails at Caño Cristales: which can be (Caño Cristalitos / Caño Piedra or Laguna del Silencio), then you will return to La Macarena in order to have lunch before being taken to the airport where you will take the flight back to Bogotá or your destination city during the afternoon.
