Chingaza National Park is located less than 50 kms away from the financial center of Bogotá. It provides drinkable water for more than 10 million people of Bogotá and surrounding towns. It has dramatic landscapes that vary from 800 (2.600 ft.) to 4.020 m.a.s.l. (13.200 ft.) being home of special flora such as the Frailejones and fauna such as the white-tailed deer or the Andean bear among others. In this 2-days experience you will visit the most famous trails of Chingaza, getting deeper in it and having a great panoramic of this beautiful national park.
(06:00) – Departure from the agreed point in private vehicles, then you will have breakfast in La Calera town before leaving to the entrance of the national park, where we will do the registration and will start the hike by the Siecha lagoons circuit (9.5 kms). You will have an outdoor lunch and then we will get in the transportation to the Monterredondo area, where you will have accommodation in a cabin. If the time and weather conditions allow it you will do a short hike (2 kms) at the Suasie Corto trail. At night you will have dinner and time to rest.
(06:00) – Breakfast, and after that, you will be taken 1 hour by car to Chingaza lagoon sector, where we will start a trek of 10 kms attempting to reach El Medio lagoon (with high probability to get feet wet, so we recommend to take good trekking boots and clothes for change once the trek is over). Later on, we will get back to the cabin to have lunch and will check-out. At the end, you will be taken back to Bogotá where you will arrive at night and will be drop at the point you choose inside the city.
