Tour Details

This tour is designed for people with interest in culture and human interactions adding amazing Colombian characteristic green landscapes in a 16 days trip which starts in Bogotá, the capital and then heads south to Huila region where a desert and the famous archeological site of San Agustin will transport you thousands of years back in an enigmatic past that isn´t still explained by science. Then you will head to another archeological special place: Tierradentro, which is located in a remote area still untouched and very authentic.

In the second part of this trip you will head up to the Caribbean coast of Colombia, passing first by colonial towns, the vibrant city of Cali which offers dances and special flavors; after that you will explore the famous colombian coffee region with its green and fertile mountains; and then you will end your trip exploring the precious walled city of Cartagena, a famous destination that also has islands with amazing beaches that you will visit having a balance between culture, nature and relax in these 16 days trip.

DAY 1ARRIVAL IN BOGOTA.

– Reception at El Dorado airport & transfer to the hotel
– Check in at the hotel and lunch.
– Optional: Gold Museum visit & city tour around La Candelaria historical city center.

DAY 2BOGOTÁ

DAY 3TATACOA DESERT

(07:00) – Breakfast and then:
– Flight Bogotá – Neiva.

DAY 8POPAYÁN

– Departure to Popayan (The white city), one of the most beautiful colonial cities of the country.
– Lunch at the historical center

DAY 9SILVIA

– Transfer to Cali.

DAY 12QUINDIO

DAY 13SALENTO

(07:00) – Breakfast and then:
– Ground transfer to Salento where you will go through the middle of coffee & fruit plantations.
– Visit in 4×4 to the “Cocora” Valley where you will find the wax palms (the representative tree of Colombia).
– In the afternoon you will have guided walk around Salento.
– Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 14CARTAGENA

(07:00) – Breakfast and then:
– Transfer to the Pereira airport for a flight to Cartagena.

RECOMMENDATIONS

– Follow and abide the instructions of the guides specially in the rural areas where you will visit special archeological sites and some indigenous territories.
– Be prepared with appropriated clothing for the 16 days of the trip in places with different climates, altitudes (from 0 to 2.600 m.a.s.l.) and rural areas where the weather conditions may change unexpectedly.
– It is important to leave the least impact possible and deposit the trash generated in the places disposed for garbage.
– It is important to take cautions against mosquitos and have the vaccination against yellow fever and COVID-19.
– It is important to mention in advance about important illness, allergies and other important health conditions that may affect you during this trip as well as food restrictions.
