Casanare department (state) is located in the Orinoquía region of Colombia, in the eastern savannas of our country. A region where several natural private reserves are stablished in which is possible to observe an important fauna diversity and we can also experience and enjoy different activities with locals at the best “llanero” (Cowboy) style.
This is a land of unique sunsets, cowboys, myths, legends and incredible fauna specially with hundreds of bird species, reptiles such as the “Llanero” alligator, felines like the jaguar and the puma and endemic species of south America such as the particular Chigüiro (Capybara). Hato La Aurora is the most famous reserve to observe wildlife in the region, where depending on the season the conditions are more or less favorable to find the animals and travel the roads.

On the way we will stop in two towns: Pore (which is a colonial national heritage town) and Paz de Ariporo. After this last town we will take an unpaved road where we will do several stops on the way looking for fauna. Once we arrive at the reserve, you will do check-in, will have lunch and then will do a safari on boats along the Ariporo river looking for caimans, birds and aquatic species.
