Few years ago, Colombia was a place that just few foreign adventurers dare to visit, just recently Colombia started to be in the spotlight of international tourism with its vibrant cities, kind people and amazing biodiversity due to its privileged geography. Anyways there is still more than half of the wonders of the country that remain untouched and were hidden due to the Colombian conflict.
Nowadays in much safer to visit Colombia and also hidden places deep in its five different regions. This experience aims to show 4 completely special destinations and national parks such as Chingaza, Caño Cristales, Guaviare region and the isolated and still enigmatic Chiribiquete national park. The landscapes in this tour are very special and some of them unique in Colombia and reserved only for adventurers who explore them before the rest of the world starts to know more about them.

– 6 hours boat navigation down the “Guayabero” river admiring pristine ecosystems.

– 2 hours ride in 4×4 towards Cerro Azul sector.
– Start of the trek (6 Kms) to observe the most famous rock paintings of Guaviare located in this place.
– Lunch with the local community.
– Visit of projects of illegal crops substitution.
– Return to San José del Guaviare, dinner and rest at the hotel.

– Boat or 4×4 ride (depending on the season) towards
“Damas del Nare” lake.
– River dolphin swimming experience
– Visit of the community of Damas del Nare (with processes of illegal cropping substitution) and lunch with them.

– 9 nights of accommodation in 3-stars hotels.

– Follow and abide the instructions of the guides during the whole expedition as you will explore a rural area in the jungle and savannahs of the region.
– Be prepared with appropriated clothing for the 10 days of the trip in places with different climates, altitudes (from 0 to 3.200 m.a.s.l.) and rural areas where the weather conditions may change unexpectedly.
– Caño Cristales is a national park, so it is necessary to follow local rules and leave the least impact possible and deposit the trash generated in the places disposed for garbage.
– In Caño Cristales de use of chemicals like sunscreen and mosquito repellent are forbidden, so it is important to dress with long-sleeved clothing and use fishing hat or any physical protection from the sun.
– Chiribiquete National park is a world heritage protected site and can be visited only by plane, for this experience is necessary to book in advance as the spots are limited to few groups per year.
– It is important to take cautions against mosquitos and have the vaccination against yellow fever and COVID-19.
– It is important to mention in advance about important illness, allergies and other important health conditions that may affect you during this trip as well as food restrictions.
– Waterproof comfortable long-sleeved clothing for hikes at Chinhaza, Caño Cristales, Guaviare & Chiribiquete national parks in areas with temperatures that range from 12 to 35 Celsius degrees (remembering that in Caño Cristales the use of sunscreen and mosquito repellent is not allowed).
– Caps, fishing hat and/or head protection for the sun.
– Appropriated footwear for the hikes (Waterproof trekking boots are recommended and several pairs of sneakers for change).
– Swimming suit, towel and sandals as there will be chances to swim in rivers and lakes
